Judicial Seminar on Tackling Domestic Abuse
22 - 23 January 2016
On Friday 22 and Saturday 23 January 2016, a seminar was held on Tackling Domestic Abuse in Guyana. The seminar was organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat in collaboration with the Judiciary of Guyana and the Commonwealth Magistrates' and Judges' Association. On the first day of training, the audience comprised social workers, policemen and women; whilst on the second day the training was restricted to the judiciary only.
Dr Douglas presented to both groups of participants on the following topics: "Domestic Abuse- the Underlying Causes" and "Perpetrator and Victim Myths and Preconceptions in Domestic Abuse /Gender-Based Offending."
