M.Ed.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s Level degree in Professional Counseling. For a several years, I worked at a number of higher education institutions in the United States where I was able to provide career guidance, life skills training, and crisis intervention and support to tertiary-level individuals.

Upon my return to Trinidad and Tobago, I worked closely with a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing guidance and direction to the nation’s children and their families. Through this organization, I was able to provide psychosocial support to a number of clients. In addition to this experience, I had the great honour of working in the child protection field in the Child and Family Services Unity at the Children’s Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.

Throughout my professional tenure thus far, I have been involved in several projects which have allowed me to develop greater capacity in stress management and group facilitation. While my passion rests in helping young adults to navigate the sometimes confusing terrain of daily life, I also thoroughly enjoy working with couples and families to assist in addressing any areas of concern.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling, specializing in Marriage & Family Therapy, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Counselling and Management of Human Resources. I am a Marriage & Family Therapist trained in Counselling within the context of individual, marital, couples and family systems. I have the utmost respect for Counselling as a profession, which is not just a job, but a vocation – a calling. With that calling, comes an awesome responsibility – one that requires competence through professional training and mentorship.

As a Therapist with a strong affinity to Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I respect my clients’ right to self-determination and to make their own life-changing decisions to improve the quality of their relationships. I embrace my relationship with God as that which keeps me anchored and resilient. I am loyal, considerate of others, love a good joke and consider myself to be hilariously funny (although the jury is still out on that one).
