I have served Trinidad & Tobago as a Social Worker for the past 10 years, and have extensive experience in working with children with difficult behaviours and their families. I have worked as a Social Worker at the Family Court of Trinidad and Tobago for seven years, during which time I developed treatment plans, counselled children deemed beyond the control of their parents, and provided group and individual counselling for parents who faced challenges post-divorce.

After my time at the Family Court, I worked in child protection and was instrumental in the establishment of the Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, where I began as a Team lead in the areas of Juvenile Justice and 'Beyond Control'. After one year I was promoted to the position of Acting Manager of The Adoption and Foster Care Units, and the Child and Family Services Unit. Thereafter, I was contracted by the USAID/ UNDP Juvenile Court Project where I worked with the executive of the Children Court in the development of their Social Services Unit; ensuring that policies, procedures and interventions were developed to treat with children in conflict with the law. In addition to my professional accomplishments, I have acquired my Masters Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counselling at Walden University.

I have also been involved in volunteerism working with youth and parents. In this capacity, I co-facilitated several parenting workshops, and other group interventions focusing on behaviour change. In addition to this, I am a board member of the NGO "Is there Not A Cause", and was the social work representative on the Board of the Rotary Club of Maraval Special School.
